Bankruptcy

"Protect your home & possessions"

Bankruptcy laws are designed to help people when they are unable to pay their debts and need a fresh start.  Assets can be liquidated or repayment plans can be put in place.  Bankruptcy laws aren't just for individuals, they are also available to protect troubled businesses.  Federal Courts have complete jurisdiction over bankruptcy laws; State Courts are not involved.

We can assist you with Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy.

Chapter 7

Chapter 7 bankruptcy helps you get a completely new slate.  It wipes unsecured debt away.  Generally when you file Chapter 7 an automatic stay takes effect.  This is a court order that prohibits most actions from occurring, including calls from debt collectors, repossessions, utility shut-offs, wage garnishments, and foreclosures.

Chapter 13

Chapter 13 bankruptcy is a "reorganization of debts."  Many debtors considering bankruptcy choose Chapter 13 in order to catch up on past due payments, such as home and auto loans, and other secured debts.  Individuals that may not qualify for Chapter 7 may qualify under Chapter 13.
